ADOPTION

Stay-A-While is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to sheltering, caring for and placing cats into life-long homes.
Stay-A-While strives to provide the best possible match for our cats and kittens to their new home and family. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption based on the information provided during the pre-adoption interview.

OUR ADOPTION POLICIES

At the time of adoption, new guardians sign a legal contract agreeing to the following policies:

  • All adult cats will be spayed or neutered before adoption. Any kittens that have not been fixed prior to adoption, generally 4 months of age and under, will leave with a certificate for a free spay/neuter at our participating vets. The adopter agrees to have the kitten spayed/neutered as soon as, or before, they reach 5-6 months of age.
  • Cats and kittens must be provided with the proper and humane care, food, water, shelter and all other necessities.
  • Cats and kittens must be provided with the veterinary care and necessary vaccinations, both on a regular basis and when the cat or kitten becomes ill.
  • Cats and kittens are never to be used for experimentation or research.
  • We recommend that cats and kittens be given at least 30 days to adjust to his/her new environment.
  • A covered carrier is required to transport the cats and kittens from Stay-A-While and to all vet appointments.
  • Cats and kittens must be surrendered only to Stay-A-While if unable to keep him/her.

ADOPTION INFORMATION
